Samantha's doll has a name!

I just finished reading The Stolen Sapphire and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Samantha finally has officially given a name to her nutcracker doll: CLARA!

I won't give away too much of the story, but I loved it! I signed up for Borders new rewards program and was able to save about $2 on the book. I'm going back to buy the others today.

I've always called her Clara, given that (I thought) she was supposed to be a doll of the little girl from The Nutcracker Ballet, who's name is normally Clara (although is sometimes Marie, depending on the company).

They do imply that the doll is Clara from the Ballet in Samantha's Surprise, "The doll held a tiny wooden soldier that looked just like the Nutcracker in the ballet," page 3.

It's great that they've finally started calling her by her name, though. Hopefully they'll change the website to give the doll a bit more personality; most of the other girls' dolls have names.

I think Kaya is the only one who'se doll doesn't have a name.

Felicty: Susanna Maria...
Elizabeth: Charlotte
Josefina: Nina

Addy: Ida Bean (and Janie that she gave to Esther)
Samantha: Clara
Nellie: Lydia
Kit: a name was not specifically given, but I'm assuming she calls her Amelia(Earheart)

I think you're right. I've never read Kaya's books [img]redface.gif[/img] , but it says on the AG website that "Kaya's" doll actually belonged to Speaking Rain, but doesn't give the doll's name (perhaps AG doesn't see it as important as it's not really Kaya's doll?).

I love the AG dolls. Sam's is the only one I have, and I probably wont get anymore for awhile, but they all are semi-very important in at least one book in the girls' series.
